Heart Break Giclee print
Heart Break is an acrylic painting born from an initial vision of unity within a safe and loving atmosphere. However, the piece took an unexpected turn, culminating in a dramatic and violent conclusion at the hands of a baseball bat.
At the time, I was navigating a difficult emotional space, compelled to find the largest heart possible and break it—an act of catharsis through colour and raw expression. Infused with a spectrum of hues and emotional intensity, the painting became an attempt to exorcize my pain through the medium of paint, confronting and processing the emotions I was experiencing.
This work is not for everyone. The unconventional materials, including buffalo blood, introduce an element of unpredictability in its long-term condition, with the canvas itself splitting in several places—further enhancing its distinctive character. The resulting piece stands as a visceral testament to the complexities of emotion and artistic release.
