Craigard Threads: A Hexi Cardigan Story part 2.

🧶 Bounce and Lemon: The Sleeve Saga

Welcome back to the Craigard Chronicles, where yarn mischief meets geometric ambition. Today’s post features the unfolding drama of a seven-sided jumper, a sleeve that’s finally behaving, and a colour combo that’s not shy about being cheerful.

📸 Folding Magic & First Impressions

Photos 1 and 2 show the beginning of my jumper journey. At first glance, it looked like I’d never get it to lie flat enough to show you how it’s coming along—but after a bit of folding wizardry, we’ve landed on half of a seven-sided shape. So far, so promising.

🧵 Yarn Chaos Protocol (Unofficial)

This jumper is made from the yarn I salvaged from a granny square jumper, which means I’ve got a delightful mess of very short lengths to work with. Most of them are going into this project, so I’m bracing myself for a bazillion ends to sew in. (Note to future self: maybe don’t unravel a whole jumper unless you’re feeling particularly patient.)

The yarns in play:

- Multicoloured: Yarnsmiths Play Chunky, shade 1G001 “Bounce”

- Yellow: Yarnsmiths Create Chunky, shade 5170 “Lemon Yellow”

Both are 100g balls of 100% acrylic and should wash happily on a 30°C gentle cycle, with a tumble dry on low. The suggested hook size is 6mm, but I’ve gone rogue with a 7mm—I wanted less density and a bit more flow.
